No Jive - Just Five

Posted by Picasa Isaac's got a new number. He woke up this morning and said "Am I FIVE?" We gave him the nod and he said, "YES!!!!" "A new number!"

Interview with a wise old man-

Q. What have you learned this last year when you were four?I learned about Jesus AND the Lord and Heaven. I learned about numbers, letters, school and homework. I learned how to whistle and I know how to (insert the tongue clucking sound) CLUCK, BUT, I don't know how to snap. I know how to hop like a kangaroo and ride a bike and fall off of a bike."

Q. What do you hope to learn this year while you are five?I wanna learn to do tricks. Like flips and exercise. Oh, and I wanna learn to snap. When I am five I want a little clipper to clip my own nails.

Q. What is your favorite food? Pizza

Q. What food do you hate? Eggs

Q. What do you like about Haiti?I loved the airplane ride and I loved coming to see daddy. (Note: Neither of those have anything to do with liking Haiti.)

Q. What are you hoping for today? A lot of cool new big-boy toys. And I'm thinkin' I might get one more toy that is really cool. I think I could have ice-cream and cake and maybe a party at Wahoo. (Wahoo is the beach.)

After we finish school we are heading to Wahoo for a birthday party around 2pm. Luckily, a highly overpriced gallon of ice cream was purchased last week. We think we are ready to meet and even exceed all five year old expectations, spoken and unspoken.

In other non-Birthday news-

Troy started his day moving food before dawn and twisted his ankle. He is limping around here in pain. The big food order was supposed to come Saturday and didn't, so Troy will be going to the market for a few items to get through the next two days. All the best laid plans don't get you too far here.

We are still praying that a better option might be found for Mme. Bozor today. We are running out of ideas but have two places left to check on. The current situation at General Hospital includes going out and finding your own medicine and bandages and then supplying the hospital with them so they can help the patient. Seriously. During our short time here we have seen plenty of things that shocked us, General Hospital being at the very top of the shock-list. It is difficult to accept that a place like that exists.

We learned some news yesterday that has put us into prayer mode. We will likely have a big decision to make in the next few months and ask that for now you would just pray that the Lord would give clear answers and direction. Eventually we'll share more. For now we don't want to hear any opinions except God's so it is easier just to ask for prayer for our discernment and God's will and not share the details yet.

We hope you have a great start to your week. Thank you for all the prayers for us and for the mission and Mme. Bozor. They are invaluable to us and so appreciated.

Love, Tara
