Shallow Hal

Right after I post about waste and want, it seems (not so) fitting to tell you our happy-day story of success and plenty at the grocery store.

Shallow? Yeah, maybe it is. But I would be lying if I said I was not totally psyched.

The only "chip" you can depend upon here is the Pringle. They are a readily available, high-fat snack item in Haiti. The problem is, they are nasty and lose their appeal very quickly. For those of us who need prefer to have salty junk food in our diet, Pringles just disappoint.

When you have tried every nasty flavor they offer and still nothing satisfies, you know it is time to give up hope of ever enjoying a good quality fried potato product ever again. Until now ...

Yesterday we hit the mother-load at the grocery store. Troy found: Pizza crust, Diet. Dr. Pepper, Diet Cherry Coke, Lays regular chips AND Lays Salt and Vinegar chips. He said it was hard not to go crazy and just buy out the entire stock. In reality the entire stock was about 16 bags when he arrived. I think he made a mistake by only buying six bags. ;-)

Walking into the laundry room and seeing FIVE two liters of Diet Dr. Pepper brings a smile to my face and puts a spring in my step. I must pace myself or the fun will end too soon.

I gotta go hide the chips. ;)
