Wrapping Up the Week

The first full week of school went really well. Things already seem easier than our first year of this and we can wrap up the day by 2pm pretty easily if we keep our heads down in the morning. I never lost my temper once so somebody must have been praying.

Paige likes seven out of eight of her subjects. Who can expect her to like diagramming compound sentences? Even I think that is torture.

There is one problem though. Kind of a big one.

I have a huge crush on Paige's Math teacher. He is a babe. I'm trying hard to keep cool.

Britt likes the classes she chose. It requires more time than last years curriculum but she seems up for it. We only saw her at meal time and when she came out to clean up cuts or burns. She says she is up for the challenge. In one of her classes she has a girl who lives in the D.R. -- practically our neighbor.

Isaac & Hope did well. Noah is happy to sit in on the action and play games and listen to stories with his big brother and sister. The shapes and colors bingo game wins the prize for holding everyone's attention the longest. Hope seems to win every time. All three sets of our alphabet cards are missing one or more cards. The best set is only missing an 'I' --- which Isaac believes is a personal affront to his name. We learned all about opposites this week and all three of the little people have a grasp on what opposite means.

Speaking of opposites. The opposite of listening to a football game, is NOT listening to a football game. Apparently the A.D. at White Bear Lake H.S. thinks he is kind of a big deal and he put the kabosh on having the game broadcast tonight. We gave it the college try and voiced our complaint via e-mail to that district. I guess a few upset schmucks in Haiti don't have much pull, the game is not yet available for internet listening -- it started ten minutes ago. Boo to you Mr. Athletic Director slash Football coach of WBL ... you bummed us out.

The weekend has some work and some play ... hope yours is fun and filled with all the things that bring you rest and rejuvenate you. Much LOVE to you all! -Tara
