This explains everything

Today I overheard Noah calling Isaac a name.  I could tell he was saying something mean by the tone of his voice. I walked in and said, "What are you calling your brother?"  Isaac answered for Noah and said, "Ma, he is calling me conscience!"

I was perplexed.

I asked Noah if he had any idea what the word means.  He said "Dory says it on Finding Nemo"but other than the fact that Dory says it, he had nothing.

I then explained what it was ... he stopped listening early on and it was clear he was hearing Charlie Brown's mom's voice - the lights were on, but no one was home.

Troy decided to see what Noah retained.  This video documents his near total recall and stellar retention of complex information. Not.

It also explains why he pours bottle after bottle of shampoo out and why he frequently urinates in the wrong spot.  The boy was born without a conscience and his parents have not taught him a darn thing.

Tonight as we walked up the drive together, Noah said "Ma - see that cross?" (pointing to gigantic cross on the hill at Lifeline) "That cross got died on!"

Hoping to have my awesomeness in both parenting and teaching affirmed I said, "Yeah buddy, who died on the cross?"

Long Pause...

crickets ...

"Ma - YOU KNOW THIS!"
