Aftershock

This morning we were standing in the kitchen around 5:45am talking to friends that have been staying with us because they needed to leave and we are unsure if they will get out of here today. We were saying our goodbyes. All of a sudden the house was rocking. It was the strongest aftershock we've felt yet. I looked on line and see that they are saying it was a 6.1. I cannot begin to describe how totally afraid everyone here is ... these aftershocks stir everything back up to the surface. I would have to imagine that lots of buildings that were hanging close to collapsing may have now collapsed. This aftershock lasted about 15 seconds. The original 7.0 lasted a good 45 seconds. Every time someone opens the front gate (makes a large noise) we all jump to our feet to get out of the house.

We're back to the clinic today. I know that so many of you are waiting on replies to questions ... we're sleeping very little as it is so we just have to make a decision to leave most emails unanswered for a time. I hope you understand.

Please keep praying for Haiti.

We are praying. We are trying to get you help through military channels. Don't want to get your hopes up, but we have tried to make contact. Hopefully they'll make contact with YOU.

The Lord is with you and will strengthen your hands.
In Him,
Casey Houseworth

We filled out that military request (at the US Gov't site) for help form about 36 hours ago -- no one has responded yet. They say they will arrive in 6 to 12 hours so we're wondering where the lapse is in their system .. we gave GPS coordinates and everything.

Thank you for what you are able to do to keep the news coming. Today's Tribune in my small city moved Haiti news off the front page to A3. But the news was no good. Airport bottlenecked, port unusable, roads blocked, tons of food and med supplies trapped in warehouses with no way to transport.
Praying! Nothing is too difficult for God to do! May He supply you and your every need with supernatural power. May you be rested and fed by the unbelievable grace of the Holy Spirit. His hedge of protection around you at all times.
PTSD is normal for earthquake survivors. May the Lord sustain you at all times and in all ways through His mighty strength. May you rise renewed every morning.

Praying that God surrounds each of you in His mighty hedge of protection and comforts you with His grace during this difficult time. I can only imagine the emotions that come flooding back every time something shakes or an aftershock occurs. My thoughts and prayers remain with all of you! <><

Hang in there and take care of you, too!!

Hugs,
Tanya

THANK YOU!
I probably speak for many (I know I at least speak for my wife and I) but we are so thankful to have you and your partners there. We feel helpless (but not hopeless!) and so far away...yet by your actions of service and sacrifice we feel connected in a way we otherwise could not.

Thank you for serving. Thank you for the photos and updates.

We are praying for strength of body and mind....and for all of Haiti!

Tara and Troy,

So glad for your updates. God bless you as you work for Him! I am following Troy and now Casey on Twitter - you are all in my prayers! I agree with "Enchanted Oak" reply - that God will supply your needs in HIS natural and supernatural power! Again - GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Love to all - Sharon

praying, praying, praying for you guys, asking God to surround you with love, peace, comfort, and safety. i hope you can find a quiet minute today, some kind of sabbath in the midst of this. that is my prayer for you and for troy today...for some rest. so many people have you on their hearts and minds: people you don't know, and who don't know you. but we are brothers and sisters in our baptism, and that is enough to make us family. we love you, we love haiti. God bless you!

love,
rachel

Hiya...love the work you are doing....In your view is there scope for mobilising the children and young people to help..e.g. to put water into plastic bottles - in 6 hours it is almost sterile...see this http://www.clarehanbury.com/2009/02/clean-water-the-answer-is-the-sun-.html

Heaven Stands by JJ Heller

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn't there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
That You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Yea, one day You will set all things right

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands

Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave You when...

When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave...
I never leave Your hands

Sending LOTS of prayers of comfort to you and the Hatian people affected by this aftershock. It was such a sad thing to wake up to this morning - hearing about another earthquake.

***Dear Lord, I pray for Haiti. I pray that through this tragedy, they can see your awesome power and love and many come to know you. I thank you for this amazing family who have answered your call and are on the front lines helping the Hatians and preaching your word of love and Good News. All these things I ask in your name, Amen. ***
