Reality Show

Someone should follow us around with a video camera. Seriously. This is so crazy it would make great reality TV. Except I can't stand reality TV, so I guess that won't work. I just wish sometimes you could all see first-hand the ridiculous/funny/sad/frightening things we're seeing. It really would "make you laugh, and make you cry", as they say. It would also be educational. I never would have imagined all the things I took for granted. Here are a few:

Electricity that works by itself (without me starting a generator at 4 AM)
Roads that get repaired (and don't wash out and flood with every rainfall)
Telephones that work (this is hard for a phone man to take)
Garbage pick-up services
Gas stations that don't run out of gas
Grocery stores that don't run out of groceries
Turning on your kitchen faucet and having water come out, EVERY time
Water that you can safely drink

There are many more, and now that I think of it, I really took just about everything for granted before coming here. I am thankful for the ability to see that, and the opportunity to learn to fully appreciate all the blessings that we have. It's just too bad you can't watch it unfold on television.
