All together now?

RE: Springing forward, even though the Caribbean is not supposed to:

By the end of the day, it seems that everyone has agreed to move their clock forward one hour. Very few students and teachers came to school at the right time this morning. It is one of those things you just eeeeaaaaassseee into. Don't do anything rash.

They finally lost that hour by the time they went home. Tomorrow should be more organized.

These sorts of things point out to me, that while I think I am so much mellower, (is that a word?) I must be kidding myself. Until today, when everyone agreed on the time and started going by it, I was quite annoyed.

My mom sent me this ...

Subject: Interesting tidbit or useless trivia

On Wednesday of this week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06
That won't ever happen again in your lifetime.
You may now return to your normal life.

I will forward it to everyone in the village. ;-) I am sure they will all be SOOO impressed. (winks)

Below is Noah acting like a Haitian lady ... also acting like this basket weighs about 40 pounds. It doesn't. (Paige wants credit for taking this picture. There Paige, you got your props.) There are no child labor laws in this country, and Paige is taking full advantage of that. She was offered a job here today by the Founder and U.S. Director of Lifeline. She has accepted the terms and conditions and just needs to sign on the dotted line and start earning the big bucks. ;) Needless to say, she is very excited. She says she will "blog" about her new gig later. Here she is working on a book report this afternoon.

The team here this week, are very nice people. They worked at the Hoppa house today, ran around with Troy a bit and Troy and one of the men worked on the generator ... did some routine maintainance work ... they came out covered in diesel and grime but they said it is running much better.

Tomorrow Troy and Jason will take the team to go visit feeding centers and update the children who have sponsors. (Weigh them, check to make sure they are showing up to get their meal, etc.) I wil have Troy take the camera tomorrow to get some good pictures of kids in the program. I'll be here doing the mom thing.

This is a few of the people visiting this week.

One business item. If you are calling us (515-2943) same area code we had when we lived in MN, you will experience our frustration. BUT ---- we actually hear everything you say.

Sometimes we can be heard, but we can ALWAYS hear you. SO, if you call us and don't hear us on the other end just talk to us. We miss you, we'd love to hear what is going on in your life and we will just listen while you gab. My mom has perfected this and she will tell two and three minute stories while we just quietly listen. We will take what we can get!
