At midnight, the Electoral Council (CEP) officially declared Rene G. Preval as President of Haiti with 51.15 % of the ballots. At 3:15 am, the victory was officially announced to the people of Haiti.
We are excited to see what God does with this new leadership; we are hopeful for the people. The best news of all is that turnout was good, Preval was clearly the winner and there is hope, determination, anticipation and great expectation for a country that has been at its breaking point for two years.
